Peer Marking Code English

Peer Marking Code English

(0)
A simple set of letters that can be used as a peer marking code for children to use when assessing others writing. These are basic but are effective for getting children to consider the key elements of the writing and being able to mark it quickly and effectively. They could also be used for staff to mark writing with children then responding to these to improve their own, whilst saving time writing lengthy comments.

2017 Key Stage Two Maths Breakdown (Questions split in to age groups)

(6)
A breakdown of all the questions from the KS2 2017 Maths papers, split in to the various year group strands they have come from. Some questions overlap as they share curriculum strands from two different year groups. Included is also a breakdown of the questions in statistical form to show what each year group contributed in terms of marks. These are useful for sharing with staff in KS2 to show the types of questions children are expected to do for each year group as well as breaking questions down if people wish to practise easier or more challenging questions.
Maths Lesson Design Format
krisgreg30krisgreg30

Maths Lesson Design Format

(0)
A lesson design format that can be used to ensure children 'master' mathematical concepts. The aim of this resource is to consider different elements of the lesson that when put together can ensure children make good progress through the lesson/ series of lessons. The publisher version can be used to type on as a lesson plan or it can be used purely to design a lesson presentation/ resources. Key questions are included to start thinking about different elements. Whilst it isn't a definitive list, it encourages staff to consider the elements that will push children on and ensure they gain procedural fluency and conceptual understanding.

Year 5/6 Maths Planning Bundle

12 Resources
A range of Maths topics covered in this extensive planning bundle. Each one includes planning and worksheets to teach a unit of lessons. This so far includes 159 lessons and will have more units added. Worksheets are differentiated three ways with a mastery aim running throughout. Having used a similar format in my own lessons, these sheets often provide enough challenge for two days lessons, with children taking on the easier work then moving on to harder challenges within the other sheets. These have all been made with mastery in mind and so follow this pattern. Worksheet One - Works on practise and fluency (LA) Worksheet Two - Practise, fluency and reasoning (MA) Worksheet Three - Practise, fluency, reasoning and problem solving (HA)

Make Maths Matter (Key Stage Two Number Intervention)

(1)
Make Maths Matter is a 12 week intervention that is designed to build children's number confidence in Key Stage Two. Within the scheme is an explanation of the thinking behind the way it has been planned out and why it is important to start with the basics. There is then a mini plan for the three sessions each week to be led by either a teacher or teaching assistant that explains the purpose of each session. This is finished off by an Appendix that explains particular concepts in more details and gives a brief description of how each resource is to be used.

Calculation Policy

Calculation Policy

(0)
Attached is a version of a potential calculation policy that people can use for ideas to help in developing their own. Each year group is broken down in to the 4 operations, identifying mental and written methods and linking to other strands in the curriculum. Written methods are kept to a minimum to ensure children become 'experts' in that method and to ensure consistency throughout teaching.
Primary History Assessment Grids
krisgreg30krisgreg30

Primary History Assessment Grids

(15)
History assessment grids from Year 1 to 6 that can be used to check children's understanding and use as a progress measure if wished. These are to be used as best fit as there may be some areas they are weaker/ more confident in with the aim being a best fit judgement. I created these as there appears to be a gap in history assessment at the minute in primary schools since the move to assessment without levels. This enables schools to have something in place for a foundation subject that links well to other curricular areas, as well as showing an assessment system should visitors wish to know how you monitor progress. These were created using the statements from the curriculum, with a particular focus on what they should be able to do at the end of each Key Stage and then working up/ back from that/ making sure children are 'Year 7 ready' at the end of Key Stage Two. There is some overlap in the way grids may be worded but this is because the content they are learning is different and they are beginning to increase knowledge across a range of topics/ apply skills to different topics. I have attached PDF and Word documents as they can then be edited if you wish.
